Spring 2007-
PLACES OF POWER
Frontiers
Records is happy to introduce one of the most exciting
new signings ever! PLACES OF POWER is a new
monicker behind which two familiar faces are hiding the
beginning of their newest collaboration.
Bruce Turgon
(ex FOREIGNER, SHADOW KING, LOU GRAMM, ATOMIC PLAYBOYS) and
Philip Bardowell (ex UNRULY CHILD, MAGDALEN)
have started working together on a blistering set of new songs
and have christened this new partnership as PLACES OF
POWER: a name which, according to Turgon, "is very
strong and meaningful to this project".

Bruce Turgon Philip Bardowell
"Philip and I have a
great working relationship and we have both a personal and
shared inner vision" comments Turgon about this new venture,
adding "we've spoken a lot about the kind of record we wanted to
make and we found out we were exactly on the same page musically".
The fans can expect a
magnificent melodic Hard Rock release, set to blend the best
elements of Turgon's songwriting and musicianship together with
the acclaimed powerful vocals from Bardowell, in order to create
a real musical milestone akin to the best FOREIGNER and SHADOW
KING albums. Something to get very excited about and that is
planned to be released at the end of the summer 07.
Both Philip
Bardowell and Bruce Turgon are
Frontiers Records recording artists. Bardowell released
his album “In The Cut” is September 2005 while Turgon debuted as
a solo artist with “Outside Looking In” in the November of the
same year. Both albums gathered rave reviews from the press,
including:
“So many albums are
released and reviewed, yet this one stands out as something a
little different and something a little special. 2005 has been a
year for the lesser known names and the surprise releases. Add
Bruce Turgon to that list” - Melodicrock.com
“The music on
Turgon's classy solo album reminds a lot of the albums he's been
involved in the past so all fans of Foreigner will have a feast
for sure. High quality AOR at your service!” - Melodic.net
“Bruce has crafted
one of the best AOR/melodic hard rock albums of the year!
Especially the fans of Foreigner will be pleased by this
release!” - Rock Report
“Philip Bardowell
released a mighty fine album filled with glorious AOR that will
appeal to both fans of the old-school traditional sound of this
genre and fans of more current releases” - Melodicrock.com
“I consider Philip
Bardowell a true asset in these rather meagre times for our
beloved AOR/melodic rock genre” - Rock Report
September 2006-
Philip
Bardowell releases a song on Richie Zito's album Avalon.
In the late
'70s, Richie Zito was one of the most sought-after session
guitarists in Los Angeles. He lent his chops to Art Garfunkel,
Barbara Streisand, The Beach Boys, Donna Summer, Diana Ross,
Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie to name a few. At
the start of the '80s, Zito hooked up with Elton John, and
became a member of his band. Soon after, in addition to playing
guitar on the Soundtracks for FLASHDANCE, TOP GUN, SCARFACE and
BEVERLY HILLS COP, he began producing and writing for the
Motels, and boasts an exhaustive resumé including the Cult,
White Lion, Open Skyz, Mr. Big, Tyketto, Joe Cocker’s “You Can
Leave Your Hat On”, Eddie Money’s (Grammy Nominated) duet with
Ronnie Spector, “Take Me Home Tonight”, Heart’s Triple Platinum
“Brigade” CD and Bad English’s #1 Record “When I See You Smile”.
Zito's panoramic and cosmic production on Cheap Trick's “Lap of
Luxury” brought another dimension to rock records. “Lap of
Luxury” also shot the band back into the public consciousness
and delivered Trick's only number one, "The Flame." Zito's
technical skill and superb musicianship is unquestionable. Like
his guru Giorgio Moroder, Zito has brought out the best in some
of the biggest names in the music biz. As a Record Producer,
Zito has had 38 singles in Billboard’s Hot 100 and in 1990 was
the Magazine’s “Top Singles Producer of the Year”. AVALON is
“his” project where he gathered all the artists he had the
pleasure to work with during the years, to deliver a classic AOR
release and his ultimate dream album. In Zito’s words “When
Serafino Perugino, Frontiers Records President, approached me to
make a CD, I saw it as an opportunity to Collaborate with some
of the best Singers I know….The result is… AVALON”. “AVALON -
THE RICHIE ZITO PROJECT represents Re-Connection” continues
Richie, ”Re-Connection with Guitar Playing, Songwriting,
Producing, Melodic Rock and with some very talented Friends…”
Featured on the album are Eddie Money, legendary producer
Giorgio Moroder, Joe Lynn Turner, Eric Martin, Richie Kotzen,
Joey Carbone, Hugo, Danny Vaughn, Philip Bardowell and
Joseph Williams.
2005 -
Frontiers Records is very pleased to introduce
the new album from singer PHILIP BARDOWELL entitled "In the
Cut".
Best known for his role as lead vocalist in UNRULY CHILD,
Bardowell was also part of the band MAGDALEN together with
former House of Lords members Chuck Wright, Lanny Cordola and
Ken Mary. His voice has often been compared to such masters as
Lou Gramm (Foreigner) and Mark Free.
"In The Cut" is a solo step from Philip in a straight forward
melodic rock / AOR direction and features also the songwriting
contribution of such luminaries as Stan Bush, Jim Peterik
(Survivor, Pride of Lions), Mark Spiro (House of Lords, Bad
English), Bobby Barth (Axe) and Curt Cuomo (Kiss, Steve Perry).
The overall result will make all fans of Signal,
early Unruly Child, Stan Bush and Survivor fans jump from their
chairs! In particular, songs like "Through My Eyes", "It's A
Long Road" (included on the upcoming label sampler "Rock The
Bones vol.III") or "Never Too Late For Love" are nothing else
than pure melodic rock ecstasy!
The album production was handled by Swedish
guitar master Tommy Denander (Radioactive) with Daniel Flores
(Mind's Eye, Xsavior) handling drums.
The final tracklisting shall include the following songs:
In The Cut; Through My Eyes; Heart of A Hero; I Gotta Believe;
She Will Never Know; Never Too Late For Love; It's A Long Road;
One Day In January; Dreamin' With My Eyes Wide Open; Voices of
The Heart.
The worldwide release is scheduled for September 19th on
Frontiers Records with Japanese release on King Records.
